PORTRAIT OF GIOVANNI BATTISTA PIRANESI. 1750. Etching and engraving, 384 x 285 mm (15 1/8 x 11 1/4"), trimmed along platemark, but well outside borderline. Originally used as a frontispiece for Piranesi’s Opere Varie di Architettura...1750, and Antichita Romane, 1756. Very good impression, some offsetting and signs of old glue on verso.
