Etching on zinc, 158 x 159 mm (6 1/4 x 6 1/4”) plus full
margins, printed on thick wove paper. Signed and annotated
“Eigendruck” (printed by myself) in pencil.
The artist’s own file example with the “Unverkäuflich
E L Kirchner” (not for sale) stamp on verso, and the
Kirchner estate stamp (Lugt 1570b). Fine, rich impression
with heavy plate tone. A rare etching, apparently printed
in only a few impressions.
Osthaus was the founder of the Folkwang Museum.
